Find out more about the Auction Process

We’re here for you and we’ll help in any way we can.

Selling by auction

  1. Step 1

    Book a valuation

Make an appointment for our professional valuer to inspect your property. We may recommend your property be sold by auction depending on your timescale and the property to be sold.

  2. Step 2

    Preparing for auction

Our valuer will prepare the property details which will include photographs, floor and site plans and an EPC.

  3. Step 3

    Marketing

Once the auction date is set a marketing period of approximately 4 weeks will be undertaken quoting a guide price and promoting your property across all our office networks and on our website at www.pettyreal.co.uk including Rightmove and Onthemarket.

  4. Step 4

    Legal pack

You would need to instruct a solicitor who will prepare an auction pack which includes all the legal conveyancing documentation and our team at Real Legal would be able to assist you on this matter. This legal pack will be available for any prospective purchasers to inspect leading up to the auction date.

  5. Step 5

    Auction day

Prior to the auction date we will look at all the interest received and discuss a reserve price with you. Once the property is sold on the auction date contracts are exchanged on the same date and completion normally takes place 4-6 weeks thereafter.
