With the Pendleside Hospice Corporate Challenge well under way we thought it would be good to let you know of a few events that are coming up over the next month or so.
The Corporate Challenge is in its fourth year now and sees local companies given £50 which they then have to turn into as much money as possible with fund raising events and ideas over a four month period. Whilst there’s a certain amount of competition and rivalry amongst the companies involved we also try to support each other’s events as much as possible. At the end of the day we’re all doing this for the hospice and we want to raise as much money as possible, that way we’re all winners!
So in no particular order we have:
Tailor Made Sourcing– Dog Show on 28thJulyoutside the James Hargreaves suite at Turf Moor , 10.30am until 3pm. Entry is £2 per adult and £1 per child, with dogs getting in for free.
The highlight of the day looks set to be the 12 dog classes for contestants to try their paw at – with categories including Waggiest Tail and Best Paw Shaker – plus there will be a number of stalls selling goodies for dogs and humans. There are 100 goody bags for the first 100 people through the gates and so much for all the family to enjoy on the day.(For more info or to buy tickets, please search ‘Fun Dog Show’ on Facebook. )
Slimming World –Gingo on Saturday 3rdAugustat 7.30pm in the 1882 Lounge at Turf Moor. Plenty of gin and bingo, plus entertainment – what’s not to like about that?! Tickets are £10 and can be purchased on the night or via Slimming World and includes 2 G&T’s and 6 games of bingo.
BCW –Open Day on Saturday 3rdAugust11am – 3pm at their Bancroft Road site. As well as their successful #piefacechallenge (just have a look on social media & see what they’ve been up to) BCW are having a family open day with free children’s activities and factory tours plus food and refreshment stalls.
Pendleside Hospice – Carnival in the Park Sunday 18th10.30am Barrowford Park –The hospice are holding a Carnival in Barrowford park that includes a 3k walk for little hospice helpers (under14 accompanied by an adult) as well as a duck race and interactive circus skills workshops.
