Interior trends for 2022

Share

Throughout 2021, we have been spending more time at home. During this time, we have found new ways to connect with each other – and new ways to connect with our home. Here we look at 5 key interior trends for 2022.

  1. Basic colours

Beige is the most relevant colour as a base, both in cold and warm shades. Dulux has named Brave Ground the Colour of the Year 2022. There are also micro-trends in colours. Classic blue was the 2021 favourite and it can be assumed that it will remain in the trendy colour palette for the 2022 interior.

  1. Minimalism

Minimalist is recognized as the fashionable interior of 2022. This is another global direction, reinforced by the pandemic. Over the last 18 months, many tried to get rid of old non-functional things –  this affected not only our wardrobes, but also at home. Form is a key element in minimalism and it is desirable that at least one thing in the interior be created by a designer. If budget does not allow, you can imitate, but it is important that the piece has an interesting shape.

  1. Natural textures

Interior designers suggest a key trend for 2022 is to surround yourself with natural materials and textures. This applies to everything: decoration, furniture, and decor. The most popular textures are stone: onyx, marble, granite and wood. They are especially good as accents, such as wood panelling on the wall or floor. Textiles will complement the overall picture: linen and cotton, as well as ceramics.

  1. Combined spaces

Pandemic and isolation have proven that attention should be paid to the functionality and ergonomics of spaces. Privacy should be preserved in your home – in this case, partitions are a cool way to implement the idea of creating private areas. They allow you to transform the room at any time. These can be both glass and metal doors, and simpler elements in the form of thick curtains or even separate structures, such as a folding screen.

  1. Home garden

The latest interior design trend for 2022 is home gardening. This is a global trend combined with a micro trend that emerged under quarantine conditions when we all began to sharply miss walks, greenery and fresh air. However, the abundance of plants is not always beautiful. When there are too many of them, the atmosphere loses its cosiness and the room becomes like a greenhouse. If at the same time the greens are not grouped, and the pots are not matched to the style of the room, then the “greenhouse” also looks unkempt. Begin your landscaping by identifying flower spots in the room. Let it be two or three copies, placed at different points, and not focused on the windowsill.
