Petty’s are pleased to announce that we have been recognised for our ongoing commitment to the community by scooping a prestigious Pendle Business Award 2010. Working in the residential side of the business, we see and hear community stories each and every day and lending our support to worthy causes is certainly very rewarding. We were delighted to have won this award as it is testament to our company values and recognises the fact that as a local business we are firm advocates of supporting people and local initiatives.
The annual Pendle Business Awards, a highly regarded event showcasing the crème de la crème of businesses in the region was held on 23rd April 2010 at the ACE Centre in Nelson. Petty’s attended the black tie ceremony having been nominated in the Commitment to the Community category and we were thrilled to be announced as winner.
The ‘Commitment to the Community’ category showcases dedication to the local area and the judges felt that we are a shining example of best practice in this field. The award comes off the back of our involvement sponsoring local sports clubs, awards and providing much needed equipment and funds as well as taking up the challenge of fund raising ourselves. However, supporting the community doesn’t stop there. We work in partnership with Burnley College as well as Nelson and Colne College, helping young people to gain business acumen that will see them well on the career path. We also currently have two young apprentices working in house, learning the skills of the trade.
We feel it is a great achievement to have earned this award, and has spurred us on to continue our contribution to the local community over the coming years.
