Petty’s Invest in Future Talent
WE are investing in the future of property industry talent and are keen to support routes in to employment for young people in the local area, with the appointment of four new apprentices to departments across the company.
Damian Garvey has joined the lettings team as part of a BTEC and NVQ-based apprenticeship in Sales under Themis at Burnley College. He was inspired to take the leap into the property industry after buying his own property to renovate. His role covers a broad spectrum of areas including working with the Management team as well as marketing properties and inspections.
Joining the commercial team are Tom Shaw and Meghan Wilson. In his role, Tom aims to secure a university level qualification and has already learnt a huge amount about the commercial property industry from shadowing Director Brent Forbes on viewings and appointments. Meghan’s new role involves supporting the team in administrative duties and keeping the Petty’s website updated.
Natalie Jackson has joined the residential team in Nelson under a Level 2 business administration apprenticeship with Nelson and Colne College. Her role will see her get under the skin of the residential property industry, supporting the team and helping to market new properties and developments via Twitter.

Damian added: “When I bought and renovated my own house it really gave me the bug for property and the apprenticeship route has helped set me on the road to developing a career in a field I am really passionate about, allowing me the opportunity to earn and learn at the same time. The icing on the cake is being able to do the course whilst working with Petty’s as they are such a well respected firm in our area.”
