We take sport very seriously at Petty and we love our involvement and sponsorship with some great local sporting sides, including the unbeaten Pendle Forest Ladies Hockey who have been shortlisted for England Hockey awards for the second year, but it’s also great to get help teams at the younger end. We got a lovely thank you card and pictures from Burnley Belverdere U8’s this week as ourselves and Barnfield have been their shirt sponsors this season. Some of these lads have been playing together since they were 4! Manager Ian Whittaker said;
“It was our first season last year of playing league football, although we didn’t win any league honours, we did win the fair play award across the Accrington and district under 7 age group. We won a glass trophy and £50 cash. I couldn’t be prouder of the lads and we all really appreciate the support that Petty and Barnfield have given us this season. There’s not always a lot of money around at grassroots football so shirt sponsorship that allows us to buy the kits for the players is important for teams survival and the kids loved their new kits”
